Marilyn S. Brady, PhD, RN
Dr. Marilyn Brady has been affiliated with Trident Technical College (TTC) since 1988. Currently the Associate Dean for nursing programs, she is responsible for the management of the multiple-entry, multiple-exit nursing program that includes practical and associate degree programs enrolling over 600 students, and 33 full-time faculty. She previously taught in associate degree nursing programs at Arizona Western College and Chattanooga State Technical Community College. She began her career in nursing as a staff nurse in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Brady received her baccalaureate in nursing from the University of Delaware, her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky and her doctorate in education administration from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Brady currently serves as an ACEN site visitor (since 2003) and was appointed to the ACEN Evaluation Review Panel (ERP) in 2007. As a member of the ERP she has served on the practical, practical/associate and practical/associate/baccalaureate/master’s panels. She participated in the committee that developed the 2013 Standards and Criteria. She is currently a member of NLN and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Nursing Education (JNE). As a member of NLN, she served on the work group that developed the Outcomes and Competencies for Graduates of Practical/Vocational, Diploma, Associate Degree, Baccalaureate, Master’s. Practice Doctorate, and Research Doctorate Programs in Nursing. Her most recent publication was an editorial for the December 2011 issue of JNE.
