IAMRA is an organization of more than 100 medical regulatory authorities around the world. The IAMRA’s purpose is to “promote effective medical regulation worldwide by supporting best practice, innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing to ensure public safety and enable the global medical workforce to deliver quality health care” (IAMRA Strategic Plan 2023-2026). This purpose aligns with the goals of the ACEN, as the leading authority in nursing accreditation, to be a supportive partner in strengthening the quality of nursing education and ultimately promote positive health outcomes.
“I am thrilled that the IAMRA Board of Directors approved the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing to be a Partner organization in advancing regulation across the professions. It is through these types of global collaborations and meaningful dialogue that we can advance the quality of education, improve healthcare professionals’ practice, and advance the delivery of high-quality healthcare through the lens of regulation and public safety.”
- Kathy Chappell, PhD, RN, FNAP, FAAN, ACEN Chief Executive Officer
Membership with the IAMRA will afford the ACEN opportunities to share information and participate in discussions affecting the delivery of healthcare and the regulation of medical practice on a global scale. The ACEN’s participation in IAMRA activities will help to raise awareness to the benefits of accreditation for nursing education programs around the world.
